The Sandy Lens
Looking ahead, my goal is to create connection to this critical ecosystem through art-focused seascape and wildlife photography. I hope my work highlights anthropogenic impacts on our threatened marine life and further inspires the protection of this special place!
My creative practice branches into two pursuits; The Art of Costal Living and The Sandy Lens.
The Art of Costal Living is a fine-art practice dedicated to large scale, custom framed prints of our coastal landscapes and marine life. My portfolio explores both aerial (drone; FAA Part 107 licensed) and underwater perspectives. A portion of my work also naturally gravitates to surf culture, an homage to my roots in Southern California's skate culture.
While The Art of Coastal Living is a pursuit of the heart, The Sandy Lens is a pursuit of community. The Sandy Lens helps me meet families in my community in a way that feels both fun and organic.
At the end of the day, I want to honor this special place, celebrate the people I get to share it with, and inspire conservation. I hope, over time, these combined pursuits will weave our little family into the fabric of this town in a meaningful way.
I can’t wait for you to join me!
Hi friends, I'm Brianna Fournier! Most mornings, you can find me at the sunrise chasing my husband, our daughters, and our golden retriever down the coast. The Sandy Lens began as love letter to my family as I started photographing our life together by the sea. Over time it has grown into two community and conservation-driven art practices in the heart of our little coastal town, Delray Beach, Florida.
Over the last ten years, I've worked in sea turtle research and conservation, where I also received my master’s degree in Biological and Environmental Sciences. After spending several years with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, I decided I wanted to step away from full-time science to chase my life's greatest adventure, motherhood!
While I stay home with our family full time, I am able to stay active in the conservation field as a volunteer sea turtle biologist with a local nonprofit. I am grateful to continue to communicating the importance of the coast with my local community while also being home with our littles!
